‘Journalists fall into traps’

So Todd Gitlin tells Poynter’s Mallary Jean Tenore. Gitlin should know. As Tenore points out, he’s “a Columbia University journalism and sociology professor who has been following the media’s coverage of protests since the 1960s.” (What she didn’t seem to know, or at least didn’t acknowledge, was that Gitlin was the prototype of the modern social protester, having served as president of SDS and having organized a huge antiwar protest in the Sixties.) Jean Moos links to more about media coverage of the Occupy movement. Good and important reads!
